H.Stern has been setting trends since 1959. At that time, the company organized the first jewelry fashion shows ever held in Brazil. In 1961, it was the only Latin American jeweler to participate in the International Exhibit of Modern Jewelry sponsored by London's Victoria and Albert Museum. For decades, H.Stern has received many awards and prizes highlighting the talent and creativity of its designers and craftsmen.

In the 80's, the company achieved great success with collections signed by Catherine Deneuve, unforgettable muse of "Belle de Jour" and so many other Buñuel films, and by the Italian-Brazilian artist Roberto Moriconi. H.Stern was the first Brazilian jeweler to launch collections inspired by famous personalities, thereby gaining enormous visibility in the print and electronic media. The two above-mentioned collections were the precursors of a totally new concept that would only become globally famous ten years later: designer jewelry.

In 1995, the year of its 50th Anniversary, H.Stern launched a profound and ambitious program of internal and external reinvention. To maintain the pioneering status that had become its trademark in the past, the company refocused on the future. With his father's support, Roberto Stern, Hans' eldest son, took creative control of the company. He had a new vision for the business, and, with his brothers, started implementing it.
